Namibian born musician, composer, performing artist and musical activist, Elemotho, is about to release his fourth album. Touted as the soundtrack to the new sunrise which is on the rise, 99FM’s MYD Art spoke to the award winning artist with powerful messages for our modern times.

What can we expect from your new album, ‘Beautiful World’?
“Beautiful World is a positive, hopeful and optimistic album. It is especially for this time, and world that tends to lean towards a culture of fear and cynicism. It is an 11 track project where the songs are messaged based. Music is a powerful tool and I hope to entice the hearts and minds of the listeners.”
“We become the thoughts we think and the actions we portray. Hardship and austerity are not new to this world. What is new is how we address the challenges we face. I have become a big believer in the power of positive thinking and pro-activity.”
Why did you chose the title “Beautiful World’?
“Life is a Joy! At least in my personal opinion. The Sun rises, birds sing their sweet songs and babies are born every day. That is why I chose the title Beautiful World for my latest album, because we become the thoughts we think and the actions we portray. Hardship and austerity are not new to this world. What is new is how we address the challenges we face. I have become a big believer in the power of positive thinking and pro-activity.”
What has this year been like for you so far?
“2017 started on high note. I have been grinding hard to get the new album done, plus family means everything to me, so that is how I keep life interesting and full of joy.”
What has this year has taught you so far?
“Life is for living and the world is here to stay. Perception is everything and intention drives the spirit and heart more that we think. So I just try to live as best and responsibly as I can in this world of seven billion souls.”

What makes you positive about the Arts in Namibia this year?
“Namibia has a lot of talent but it also needs guidance and vision. We live in the era of social media, to truly grow we must engage in global creative conversations. At the same time pushing for our dream and place in this new world.”
Tell us about the launch, what can we expect?
“A magician never gives away all of his or her secrets. But I can say expect lots of surprises. It will be a night of music, love and light. For those who have never seen me and the band live, this is your opportunity to witness fire and magic on a local stage, before I hit the road to promote the album outside our borders.”
You were recently in the Kunene Region, filming a music video for your World Rhino Day song, what was that like?
“Kunene was a very enriching experience. Amazing, breath taking landscapes, animals and people. I believe we will have an amazing music video for all you lovely people soon. As a parent and custodian I am proud to stand for a cause that aims to protect our natural heritage while leaving a footprint for generations to come. #Poachingmustfall !”
