– Telecom Namibia, NPTH and the Namibia Public Workers Union concluded the 2022/2023 wage and salary negotiations that provides for an inflationary adjustment of 4% across the board for all TN employees, effective from 1 October 2022. The housing qualifying amount has also been increased by N$100,000 across the board, daily allowance by N$50, subsistence and travelling allowance for hotel stay and private stay by N$45, and the normal standby allowance has been increased by N$6.00.
– The South African authorities say they have uncovered a coal-smuggling syndicate that has played a major role in exacerbating the country’s energy crisis, BBC reports.
