Swakopmund pensioner assaulted during robbery

An 83-year-old Swakopmund resident was attacked and robbed on Saturday at his home in Vineta .
The incident happened at around 11h15 in Tsovarite Street, when the elderly man, who lives alone, opened his garage door after hearing a knock. According to the police, five male suspects overpowered him, dragged him upstairs, and tied his arms and legs to a chair using shoelaces while demanding money.
The suspects ransacked the house and fled with a revolver and ammunition, various power tools, meat, wine, jewellery, two televisions, and N$1 200 in cash. They reportedly escaped in a red Polo.
No arrests or recoveries have been made.
Police investigation continues.
