Yango Ride launched matching PIN-codes to make trips more convenient and safer for Namibians

Windhoek, Namibia, 26th January, 2026 – Yango Ride, part of the global tech company Yango Group, implements a new feature with matching PIN-codes for passengers and partner drivers in Namibia. Before the ride begins, a unique four-digit code is generated and displayed to both the passenger and the driver in their apps. To start the trip, the passenger needs to name this PIN code to the driver — this process aims to help confirm that passengers are entering the correct vehicle. Drivers are able to turn on the pick-up code option in the safety center in Yango Pro, the feature will be automatically active for each next trip.
Recently the service integrated personalized safety checklists designed for passengers to see the status of implemented security measures during their rides. The interface automatically reminds passengers to turn on special features like sharing the route with trusted contact or updating profile information, and demonstrates the current status of the ride and its safety level.

Safety is one of the main areas of focus for the Yango Ride service. Over 25 special features are available for both passengers and partner drivers before, during, and after the ride. These features include speed and driving style monitoring, the ability to share routes and trip details with trusted contacts, a quick access to SOS numbers in case of an emergency, and others.
