The bail ruling for Dr Fillemon “Fly” Nakanduungile has been postponed to 9–10 February 2026 due to the unavailability of the presiding magistrate, Billy Mutwa Lutaka, citing financial constraints.
Nakanduungile, who is accused number six in the matter, appeared in court on Thursday and will remain in custody until the new ruling dates. He faces charges of attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
The case relates to the shooting and acid attack on Public Prosecutor Justine Shiweda in Ondangwa on 17 October 2025.
Magistrate Nelao Ya France, who handled proceedings on the day, said arrangements are being made by the Office of the Judiciary to facilitate the presiding magistrate’s travel for the rescheduled hearing.
Nakanduungile’s legal representative, Smart Elago, was not present in court but agreed to the dates, stating that if 9 February is the earliest available option, the accused may remain in custody.
Nakanduungile is currently being held at the Grootfontein Correctional Facility along with other accused persons.
