1. The Global Environment Facility (GEF) Small Grants Programme
If your organization is strong on coordination, logistics and regional collaboration, this one is tailor-made.
The Global Environment Facility (GEF) Small Grants Programme, implemented by UNDP, is inviting applications from organizations that want to host and manage the GEF SGP Southern Africa Regional Workshop 2026. The workshop will be held in Harare, Zimbabwe, from 21–25 September 2026 and will bring together around 40 participants from: Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
The selected host organization will receive a strategic grant of up to USD 100,000 to:
- Organize participant travel and accommodation
- Arrange conference facilities and field visits
- Coordinate exhibitions and displays
- Produce workshop materials and documentation
Who can apply?
- Civil society organizations
- NGOs
- Non-governmental academic or educational institutions in Southern Africa
You’ll need to demonstrate:
- Experience in organizing international events
- Capacity to manage logistics and finances
- Ability to produce professional reports and knowledge products
- Willingness to provide co-financing (cash or in kind)

2. UNESCO’s Youth for Peace: Intercultural Leadership Programme

UNESCO’s Youth for Peace: Intercultural Leadership Programme is calling for 50 young leaders from around the world, aged 25 to 45, who are already doing real work in their communities. This edition’s theme is “Human Connection and Dialogue in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.” In other words:

- A 30-day fundraising challenge where you can unlock up to USD 5,000 in matching funds
