AON Out & About 11 – 17 September 2017
This week Windhoek is being injected with creativity like never before! Art, Cabaret and a whole lot of Inspiration!
IN CONFLICT
Date: Tuesday, 05 – 22 September 2017
Venue: Goethe-Institut Namibia
A solo exhibition by Jekonia Ndakola, based on contemporary politics and friction on the African continent, IN CONFLICT examines issues that many citizens face.
From civil wars that displace thousands as refugees to tyrannical figures who focus on enriching themselves through corruption, and consumerism that unknowingly has become the new colonizer of the continent; the exhibition aims to capture it all.
Using cans, the artist does not only recycle and reduce pollution but also begs the audience to ask what this culture of consumerism is costing them.
WORLD CLASS CABARET
Date: Wednesday, 13 September 2017 19:00 – 21:00

Two soul sisters, Lize Ehlers and Esther Fellner were last seen together in the successful musical ‘Mama Mia!’ – the biggest musical show to be staged in Namibia. These two extremely talented woman are coming together again in the fabulous musical cabaret show JACQUES BREL……
Brel’s songs are as timeless as they are universal. They demand the correction of injustices in society, they speak about the power of love, and they add a layer of gaiety to human weaknesses with self-deprecating humour
