This week visit Art Splash with the College of the Arts at their exhibit at the Katutura Community Arts Centre and celebrate Warehouse Theatre’s 5th Anniversary with Jazz Manouche on Wednesday, the International sensation Joss Stone on Thursday culminating in their Anniversary Bash on Friday. Art and Music – Windhoek is feeding the soul!

Every year the College of the Arts hosts several exhibitions of artworks, photographs, graphic designs, fashion designs, performances, documentaries, fun and music to celebrate the hard work of our diploma students and to show their work to the family and friends of students as well as to the art-loving Windhoek community.

This year they are proud to present artworks made in the Visual Art Department including a diversity of styles and materials. Hand-stencilled textiles, innovative objects created using re-cycled materials, ceramics and prints are exhibited alongside paintings, sculptures and drawings.

 

 

 

JAZZ MANOUCHE CONCERT FEATURING ERNA CHIMU

Date: Wednesday, 29 November 2017 19:00 – 22:30

Venue: Warehouse Theatre

Showcasing a joint performance by a Spanish duo (consisting of Albert Bello and Oriol Saña) and a Namibian band (Erna Chimu’s Band) with the aim of fostering cultural exchanges between the Spain and Namibia.

 

JOSS STONE LIVE IN NAMIBIA

Date: Thursday, 30 November 2017 at 20:00 – 23:00

Venue: Warehouse Theatre

Joss Stone’s visit to our shores forms part of her Total World Tour, with Namibia becoming the 130th country the British songstress will have visited. She will be accompanied by acoustic guitarist Leon Michael King for this duo set.

The versatile Namibian saxophonist, Suzy Eises, who is famed for her unique cross-genre collaborations, will be opening the night, followed by the talented Sean Kamati who has been making waves since 2011 with his beautifully crafted fusion of Jazz, Soul and Funk.

 

 

 

WAREHOUSE THEATRE ANNIVERSARY BASH

Date: Friday, 01 December 2017 at 20:00

Venue: Warehouse Theatre

Join the Warehouse Theatre for the 5th Anniversary under new ownership.

They’ll be having a party from 8pm, starting with Namibian rock band The Fate of Miss H, followed by Namibia’s #reggae legend Ras Sheehama.

The Boiler Room Windhoek house band, Mashura, will kick off the rest of the night featuring guest artists.
