Be Authentically You at the Annual Hair & Beauty Expo

With celebrities like Solange Knowles, Lupita Nyong’o & Viola Davis – strong women in their own right – taking a stand and showing us that beauty is the enhancement of our natural features, women across the
world have joined the Natural Hair Movement. And Namibia is right there with them.

That is why on the 9th September entrepreneurs, small businesses and everyone in the know will gather at the International University of Management (IUM)’s Tunana Hall in Dorado Park for the annual Hair & Beauty Expo.

The Natural Hair Expo encourages women to embrace what ‘yo Mama gave ‘ya and not to fall victim to the pressures of what society tells us true beauty is and is just one of many other planned events and collaborations such as:

  • Workshops specifically aimed at women entrepreneurs, interactive and educational events for businesses and strategic partners and,
  • Development work with charitable organizations that is aimed at empowering disadvantaged communities, women and the girl child.

In 2016 the expo attracted over 290 attendees with over 40 small businesses selling and advertising their products and services.

The Expo showcases the beauty, care and maintenance of Afro-textured hair, as well as the use of more natural and organic products in hair and skincare.
