Big plans for a convention centre for Windhoek
The City of Windhoek has approved land for a major mixed-use project, featuring a 5 000-seat international convention centre, a five-star hotel, and a sports complex. Submitted by the Namibia Investment and Development Agency with backing from the NIPDB, the proposed Windhoek International Convention Centre will be built in Venus Township, south of the Western Bypass. Alongside the 510-room hotel and convention hub, plans include a 4 000-seat multipurpose stadium, an African Football Museum, commercial shopping spaces, and over 100 residential plots in Cimbebasia Extension 10.
