BW Kudu and NAMCOR expand scholarship program

BW Kudu, in collaboration with The National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia; NAMCOR, is proud to announce the expansion of the scholarship program supporting underprivileged school students under the care of the Physically Active Youth (PAY), a renowned non-profit organization dedicated to supporting disadvantaged children in Katutura, in Windhoek. This initiative continues a successful collaboration that began in 2023, aimed at providing educational opportunities to deserving students from poor backgrounds.

In 2023, BW Kudu and NAMCOR awarded scholarships to two students from the PAY program. These students have excelled academically and continue their studies in 2024. Following this success, PAY approached BW Kudu to request the inclusion of more students in the scholarship program. We are pleased to confirm that we approved this request and, together with NAMCOR, will expand the scholarship initiative.

In 2024, the number of scholarship recipients will increase to four, and the duration of the scholarships will be extended to three years. This expansion reflects BW Kudu’s and NAMCOR’s ongoing commitment to supporting the educational aspirations of underprivileged youth.

BW Kudu and NAMCOR remain dedicated to supporting PAY in their mission to provide students who demonstrate promise. This partnership not only underscores BW Kudu’s and NAMCOR’s commitment to corporate social performance but also highlights the positive impact that collaborative efforts have on educational development.

A formal handover ceremony to confirm the expanded scholarship program took place on 27 August 2024. This event celebrated the achievements of the current scholarships recipients and welcomed the new students who will benefit from this initiative.

“NAMCOR and BW Kudu are thrilled to continue with this support. We believe that education is key to a brighter future, and we are determined to make a meaningful impact on the lives of Namibian youth,” said Mr. Klaus Endresen, Country Chair at BW Kudu.
