CoW breaks ground for affordable housing project in Goreangab Ext 4
In a significant step towards addressing housing challenges, the City of Windhoek marked a pivotal moment with a ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of 113 houses. These residences are part of the Informal Settlement Upgrading Affordable Housing Pilot Project located at Goreangab Ext 4.
Honourable Evelyn !Nawases-Taeyele, the Deputy Minister of Urban and Rural Development, graced the event with her presence. In her remarks, she emphasized that beneficiaries for these houses would be identified according to the criteria set forth by the Informal Settlement Upgrading Programme. Additionally, special consideration will be given to individuals serving in various uniformed services.
The project aims to provide affordable housing solutions, addressing the pressing need for adequate shelter in Windhoek. By focusing on informal settlement upgrading, the initiative seeks to uplift communities and improve living conditions for residents.
