Drastic Measures to be Taken for Unpaid or Late Tax Returns and Abuse of Import VAT

PWC Namibia Tax Leader, Mr. Stefan Hugo in an exclusive interview with 99FM, states that the power Inland Revenue now has to collect taxes has been extended aggressively. This comes as Inland Revenue has been focusing extensively on making sure that Tax Returns are paid and submitted on time.

Mr. Hugo stressed that new clauses have been implemented for penalties and interest on late or failure to submit returns. Government made changes to Namibian tax laws which came into effect on 29 and 30 December 2015.
