A 25-year-old father has been arrested in connection with the death of his two-year-old daughter at Cowboy in Katima Mulilo.

Zambezi police acting regional commander deputy commissioner Magdalena Garises said the incident happened on Wednesday after the girl was discovered in a house.

Garises said the girl had been left in the care of the father following an argument between him and the child’s grandmother over alleged lack of support.

The police said the following day, the father took the child to his uncle’s house in Cowboy, entered a room and started playing loud music.

The police further said the housemaid later heard the child crying before the music stopped. Thereafter, a body was found inside the house.

The next kin of kin have been informed.
