FNB Namibia staff dedicate time to support Amos Meerkat ECD programme
“In observance of Independence Day, which is commemorated on March 21st every year, our
staff members showed their patriotism to the Amos Meerkat Early Childhood Development
Programme by volunteering their time and skills to ensure that the learners and teachers have
the tools necessary to tackle the academic year” says Revonia Job, FirstRand Namibia
Corporate Social Investment (CSI) Manager.
“This not only boosts their confidence but allows them to complete their academic year without
lacking essential materials. This Programme is in line with our partnership strategy, enhancing
the quality of contributions that people can make in their own communities. We are proud of our
staff for making this possible” she adds.
To date, 4 610 children between the ages of five and six years were prepared for Grade 1, while
the number of educators who received training currently stands at 230 teachers and monitors.
The project is currently conducted in the Kunene, Kavango East, Oshana, Erongo, Hardap,
Karas, Khomas, Otjozondjupa and Omaheke regions.
