Gov. Urges for More Women in Mining and Opportunities for the Poor
At a recent Mining Information Sharing Workshop, Minister of Mines and Energy, Obeth Kandjoze, said the ministry has set new terms and conditions to mining and exploration licenses, which are amongst others, to consider the empowerment of the previously disadvantaged Namibians with the view to include women in the executive decision making bodies of the mining entities. The minister stressed that provision should be made for ownership opportunities to the poor, the empowerment of women and the youth as well as for first time shareholders.
