Government accountability during an economic downturn

Accountability by Government institutions has been a talking point in most public discussions lately – especially discussions centering around the issue of corruption.

The recent EAN public discussion on the Economic Downturn was no different.

Speakers tackled various areas like spending in Government institutions, gross mismanagement and corruption as well as accountability. 

One of the speakers, Nangula Uaandja brought up the role of Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) in taking over some economic sectors in order to supplement the efforts of Government. She noted that the SME and Agricultural sectors require better solutions to be able to be more sustainable.
