Government launches electrification project in Hardap and ǁKharas regions

The Ministry of Industries, Mines, and Energy has signed a service level agreement with the Southern Regional Electricity Distributor (SORED) to bring electricity to peri-urban households in the Hardap and ǁKharas regions.
Minister Modestus Amutse said the government has allocated N$12 million to electrify 969 homes, with plans to increase funding to N$20 million in the near future. He confirmed that implementation has already begun in several towns.
The initiative aims to improve living standards and support economic growth in Namibia’s southern regions.
