Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100
The Global Citizen Festival is part of a movement to end extreme poverty.
Recently, legions of citizens filled up the FNB Stadium, Johannesburg, South Africa to celebrate the life’s work and lasting legacy of Nelson Mandela for his 100th birthday.
Beyoncé & JAY-Z headlined the Festival, accompanied by Cassper Nyovest, D’banj, Ed Sheeran, Eddie Vedder, Femi Kuti, Kasey Musgraves, Pharrell Williams & Chris Martin, Sho Madjozi, Tiwa Savage, Usher, and Wizkid.
Trevor Noah hosted the Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 with co-hosts Naomi Campbell, Dave Chappelle, Sir Bob Geldof, Gayle King, Bonang Matheba, Nomzamo Mbatha, Tyler Perry, and Forest Whitaker.
Since its inception in 2012, this year was the first time the Global Citizen Festival was held in Africa.
