Namibia is currently managing a cholera outbreak in Grootfontein, declared in November 2025, with 99 suspected cases and 32 confirmed cases. The Ministry of Health says transmission is ongoing but limited, with 0–2 cases daily. A national multi-sectoral response team has been deployed to strengthen surveillance, testing, and case management. Authorities are also working to improve water, sanitation, and hygiene, and ensure schools are safe following the recent reopening. Here is the Executive Director of the Ministry, Penda Ithindi.
