NCCI: Cross Border Trade Affected by Business Visa Requirement for SA Citizens
Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) Windhoek branch manager, Johanna Shiweda-Indongo said the organisation has appealed to Government to reconsider it’s action and remove the visa requirement for South African citizens travelling to Namibia on business in its current form. Shiweda-Indongo’s comment comes as Government enforced in March this year that South Africans traveling to Namibia for business, should acquire a business visa at the Namibian High Commission in Pretoria. NCCI said this has a significant negative impact on cross border business activities between Namibia and South Africa especially since South Africa is Namibia’s largest trading partner.
