Nedbank Hosts 2020 Design Indaba in Windhoek
Are you creative?
A free thinker?
Looking to stimulate your creative interests at the creative event of the year?
The 2020 Design Indaba Conference hosted by Nedbank Namibia is bringing you a showcase of the creative optimism and activism people have come to expect from the flagship platform.
Nedbank Namibia is hosting a live simulcast of the popular Design Indaba Conference from 26 to 28 February at the Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre (FNCC).
Some of the exciting speakers to look forward to:
Natsai Chieza is a bio-designer and researcher pioneering new models for design and technology that are driven by ecological thinking. Chieza is the designer of an eco-friendly bacteria pigment that will revolutionize textile dying in the fashion industry, one of the biggest causes of pollution.
Kinya Tagawa is a Japanese award-winning design engineer. Tagawa is at the forefront of design innovation and believes that technology needs a human touch to change society for the better. Technology that is not useful or beautiful will not last, he believes–and his futuristic experimental design brings unique artistry to the engineering discipline.
Lauded as the Best Conference in the world, the Design Indaba has become a respected institution on the global creative landscape, with the stated intent of imagining a better world through creativity.
Not only will it give the Namibian creative industry access to a world-class ensemble of speakers, but the event will also feature Namibian speakers such as local architect Rowan McNamara and hip-hop artist and technology innovator, Mark Mushiva.
What sets the silver jubilee edition of Design Indaba apart is the lineup of unique talks and presentations by renowned creatives and designers throughout the event.
Nedbank Namibia’s collaboration with the Design Indaba Conference 2020 echoes the bank’s innovative positioning of its products and brand. It aims to showcase the manner in which they embrace collaboration, innovation and design thinking.
The bank’s new Head Office currently under construction in the Windhoek CBD perfectly reflects this.
Through the event, Nedbank Namibia will create a space that inspires and empowers Namibians to create a better future through design, creativity, and collaboration.
