The Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) has reached a salary agreement with the Namibia Public Workers Union (NAPWU) and the Teachers Union of Namibia (TUN), successfully concluded negotiations for the 2024/2025 financial year.

The agreement applies to all eligible administrative and academic staff within the bargaining unit.

Administrative staff in job Grades 7 to 11 will receive a 5% increase, while those in Grades 12 to 16 will receive 6%.

According to a media release issued by Nust on Tuesday, all permanent and full-time academic staff with contracts of one year or longer will receive a 5% salary adjustment.

In addition, NUST’s 80% medical aid contribution will now extend to all employees on Total Cost to Company packages, including those on full-time contracts of at least one year.

The salary increases will be backdated to 1 January 2025 and reflected in the December 2025 payroll.

NUST Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Andrew Niikondo commended both negotiating teams for their commitment, collaboration, and mutual respect throughout the process.
