Producer and cinematographer Roger Rafael, known as Nino Pequeno, shared his insights on the production process:

“It took us almost a year, starting in late 2023 and wrapping in August 2024. What the audience will really love is seeing more familiar faces and relatable locations. It’s a film that feels close to home, and the stories are as raw and authentic as they come.”

On working with a talented team of directors and writers, Rafael added:

“Collaborations are something I’m not used to, but I stepped out of my comfort zone for this project. I brought in some amazing directors and writers who all fell in love with the vision as the project developed. By the end, it truly became something we’re all proud of.”

Directed by Anne Hambuda, Ngamburiro Mutumbwa, and Imãn Ayisha, Ompata: The Beginning’s End features an ensemble cast including Dorian Mario, Khadijah Mouton, Woudré Tune, Karishma Isaacs, Faustino Paulus, Etienne M. Naruseb, Dawie Engelbrecht, and Mervin “Cheese” Uahupirapi.
