In a significant development, the Electoral Commission of Namibia has reported that during the first week of the General Registration of Voters (GRV), a total of 187,171 eligible Namibians, both within the country and at all Namibian Diplomatic Missions abroad, have been registered.
This notable figure represents an average of 31,195 registered voters per day over the course of 6 days, showcasing a strong turnout and active civic engagement among the Namibian population.
The GRV, a crucial step in the democratic process, remains ongoing, and eligible voters are urged to take advantage of the opportunity to register. The registration process continues across the country and at all Namibian Diplomatic Missions abroad until August 1, 2024. Registration centers are open Monday to Saturday from 08:00 to 19:00.
