More than 200 businesses attended the Local Content Roadshow (LCR) organised by Hyphen Hydrogen Energy (Hyphen), which took place in Swakopmund on 27 February, Oshakati on 14 March, and Lüderitz on 27 March.

The roadshow is part of Hyphen’s ongoing efforts to provide local businesses with vital, economically relevant information to help them capitalise on upcoming opportunities during the construction and operational phases of the project. The company is targeting 30 percent local procurement of goods, services, and materials.

In partnership with the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) and the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI), the LCR serves as a platform for Hyphen to share the preliminary findings of an ongoing study outlining potential local content opportunities while identifying constraints within the local market.

The study involves comprehensive value chain mapping of at least thirteen key engineering infrastructure components critical to the Hyphen project. These include Wind, Solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Electrolysis, Transmission, Roads, Green Hydrogen (GH2) Pipeline, Water (H2O) Pipeline, Ammonia (NH3) Synthesis, NH3 Storage, NH3 Export, Desalination, and Air Separation.

Hyphen Hydrogen Energy announced additional town visits are planned in the coming months.
