Future Media News Formal Apology
Future Media News wishes to issue a formal apology concerning a news report that aired in our 7 am and 8 am news bulletins on Tuesday, 29 July 2025.
In the report, PG Glass was incorrectly named alongside several pharmacies in a story regarding alleged price-fixing practices involving a 50% markup on medicines. This was a factual error. The pharmacies were the sole entities involved in the pharmaceutical price-fixing matter.
PG Glass was not involved in any pharmaceutical-related anti-competitive conduct. Their matter with the Namibian Competition Commission (NaCC) pertained solely to exclusive agreements with insurers, which were resolved independently and through a separate settlement process.
We failed to check the date, and we take full responsibility for the editorial oversight. We acknowledge the potential reputational harm caused to PG Glass and offer our sincere apologies to PG Glass, their stakeholders, and the public.
As a newsroom committed to accuracy, accountability, and ethical reporting, we are correcting the record to prevent the spread of misinformation. A formal on-air retraction aired at 10 am today, and this statement will also be published across our official channels.
We regret the error and reaffirm our commitment to upholding the highest standards of journalistic integrity.
