Hands-On Learning on Show: Grade 12 Waldorf School Projects Open to the Public

At the end of Grade 11, Waldorf learners begin a hands-on practical project that combines research, experimentation and mentorship. The work continues through Grade 12, when each student is paired with an external mentor who guides their real-world project. Learners also keep a diary documenting trials, errors and breakthroughs, while a school teacher acts as the academic mentor supporting research and assessment.

This year’s projects are diverse and creative, including solar heating systems, bookmaking, affordable brick-making and custom perfume creation.

On 9–10 July 2026 students will showcase their work. A public exhibition of practical projects, research and diaries runs from 5:30–6:30 pm, followed by evaluated oral presentations from 6:30–7:30 pm. The evening concludes at 8:00 pm. These projects form a key part of each learner’s portfolio, which will be distributed at graduation on 24 July 2026.
