Powering our Future: Geological Mapping

Ester Kapuka, Geo-scientist within the Geological Survey of Namibia, joins us to tell us more about Geological Mapping and its relevance to Namibia.

At the Ministry, this important role is undertaken by the Department of Geological Survey of Namibia (DGSN), who are responsible for geological mapping and production of both digital and printed geological maps of the whole country. 

Geological maps are tools showing the distribution of earth materials. These maps are produced using specialised Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System (GIS) technologies.
