Powering Our Future: how Geophysics shape Namibia’s future

We were joined in studio by Samuel Nengola, a Chief Geoscientist (Geophysicist) within the Geological Survey of Namibia, at the Ministry of Industries, Mines, and Energy. He is currently heading the Interpretation Department within the Geological Survey.

We took a look at Geophysics and its relevance to Namibia. Geophysics is a science that studies the structure and dynamics of the Earth by making measurements of its gravitational, magnetic, electrical and electromagnetic fields, radioactivity and the passage of elastic waves.

At the Ministry, this important role is undertaken by the Department of Geological Survey of Namibia (DGSN).
