Ugly Creatures: From High School Roots to Windhoek Jazz Festival – Celebrating A Legacy!

The band Ugly Creatures was formed as a high school musical band at Martin Luther High School, near Okombahe—a small settlement about 70 km west of Omaruru, Namibia. The founding members, all students at Martin Luther High School, shared a strong passion for music, which sparked the birth of this talented group (The band’s founding members include the late Axali Doeseb, composer of the national anthem and keyboardist; Baby Doeseb on guitar; Siegfried Jomo !Haoseb on drums; the late Johny Adams, vocalist; the late Jefta !Noabeb on bass guitar; and the late Nicro //Hoabeb on trumpet).

The second-generation member of Ugly Creatures, Tony !Haoseb, recently shared his excitement about the band’s upcoming performance at the Namibia Jazz Festival.
