UNLOCKED OPPORTUNITIES: 3 Opportunities Namibian Academics Should Know
If you work in higher education, research, a university-linked NGO, or you’re an ambitious young leader focused on digital policy and peace-building, these three opportunities are worth your attention. Each offers funding, training or access to international networks that can strengthen research projects, career development and policy engagement.
1) SSHRC Partnership Development Grants (Canada)
A Canada-based grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) to build new research partnerships between Canadian universities and non-academic partners. Namibian institutions can’t apply alone but can join as funded project partners. Ideal if you want to co‑design research, host fieldwork, or convert findings into policy and public engagement. Deadline: 16 Nov 2026.
2. Programme Internship — Concordis International (UK)
Concordis runs programmes across CAR, Cameroon, Chad, Abyei, Sudan and South Sudan and is taking programme interns to help deliver and learn from real projects. Great for early-career folks or students who want practical conflict‑resolution skills. Deadline: 16th August 2026
