  • What you get: Housing and a living stipend (package varies by placement), plus support that can include certain visas/work permits, medical and evacuation insurance, and travel-related assistance; a $350 placement fee applies upon acceptance.

PhD Position in Medical Imaging AI — University of Zurich (UZH) & AWS, Switzerland

The Department of Quantitative Biomedicine at the University of Zurich, jointly with University Hospital Zurich and in collaboration with the AWS for Healthcare team, is recruiting a PhD researcher in medical imaging AI.

  • Research focus: 3D vision‑language modeling for medical imaging, image segmentation, visual grounding, clinical validation and benchmarking (e.g., CT imaging, CT‑RATE, VLM3D, BRATS).
  • Who can apply: Candidates with degrees in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering or closely related fields; an intrinsic interest in the medical domain and in working with AWS to scale algorithms is required; no stated nationality restriction.
