World Health Organisation (WHO) Representative to Namibia Professor Monir Islam is urging pregnant women and women who are planning on getting pregnant to not be vaccinated during the current Measels and Rubella vaccination campaign. Islam said this after Spotlight News received complaints from the general public that they have not been properly informed by the Health Ministry about who should or should not be vaccinated, especially those who are planning on getting pregnant soon.
Islam said the ministry did inform the general public on who is eligible to be vaccinated or not. “Those information were provided to the community through every possible way we can,” said Professor Islam. “The ministry has really done it’s best to inform the community,” he added.
