Rental Control does “More Harm than Good”
In a meeting between Affirmative Repositioning Movement (AR) and President Hage Geingob on 11 April 2016 at State House, it was agreed that Hon. Prime Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila in line with Section 33 of the Estate Agents Act 11/1976, summon the Namibian Estate Agents Board to review and address the escalating property prices (tariffs), before 1 August 2016.
It was also agreed to operate a Rental Control Board as provided for, by the Rent Ordinance of 13/1977 as a matter of urgency.
