Restoring the economy : Education and Capacity Building

On episode 3 of the Economic Association of Namibia (EAN) panel discussion on the economic downturn, education, attitude and capacity building are the main talking points.

Nangula Uuandja, PriceWaterHouseCooper’s Country Senior Partner took to task the myriad of ‘Women Empowerment/Capacity Development’ events that she says are not making a big enough contribution towards the upliftment of women.

She also touched on the importance of the Agricultural sector, given it’s contribution to the country’s GDP.

On training and development as tools to eradicate poverty, she spoke of the need to better integrate what graduates learn at university to the actual work that they end up doing. This, she said will contribute to the increase of motivation in young people and ultimately, productivity.
