Small Businesses: Hurdles and Potential Conributions

The second episode of our special podcast dedicated to the recent Economic Association of Namibia discussion on the economic downturn, puts a focus on small businesses.

This focus looks at the hurdles they face to the potential contributions they could make as well as the contributions they can make towards the economy.

Jason Kasuta, a member of the High Level Panel on The Namibian Economy speaks about the potential of SMEs and the informal business sector to spur on inclusive GDP growth which brings on job creation.  

He also unpacks some of the bottlenecks that are hindering the growth of SMEs as well as the need to formalise the informal sector which research has proven to be accountable for about 50% of the labour force.
