The state of the Namibian economy has been a hot topic over recent years not only amongst economists and financial commentators, but between every citizen of this country.
To facilitate and engage relevant stakeholders and the general public in this conversation, the Economic Association of Namibia recently hosted a public discussion titled ‘Recovering From the Economic Downturn’. The event provided a platform for an in-depth discussion around the current challenges facing the Namibian economy, how they affect the country’s developmental goals and finding ways to counter the negative effects and collectively deliberating on solutions.
Rowland Brown, Economist, leading economic commentator and founding chairperson of the Economic Association of Namibia gives his take on the preconditions for economic growth.
