– The Electricity Control Board of Namibia says Regional Electricity Distributors are not to blame for high electricity tariffs. The ECB says the high tariffs are due to generation and transmission costs, which account for over 70% of the overall price paid on electricity. 

– Hundreds of protesters are marching in Ghana’s capital, Accra, calling for the resignation of the governor of the Bank of Ghana and his two deputies over the loss of about $5.2bn in the 2022 financial year. – BBC

– Kevin McCarthy has been toppled in a right-wing revolt – the first time ever that a US House of Representatives Speaker has lost a no-confidence vote, BBC reports. The final tally was 216-210 to remove the California congressman as leader of the Republican majority in the lower chamber of Congress. – BBC

– Cape Town City beat Amakhosi 1-0 thanks to Khanyiso Mayo’s header just before the hour mark. News24Sport reports that the win helped the Citizens register back-to-back league wins for only the second time this season. – News24 Sport
