15-year-old dies after being stabbed during family altercation

A 15-year-old boy died after he was allegedly stabbed during a family altercation at a house in Otjomuise, Windhoek, on Saturday morning.

A 10-year-old relative has been arrested in connection with the incident.

According to the police, the incident occurred after the 10-year-old boy and his sister became involved in an argument over a pair of spectacles.

Police allege that their mother instructed the 15-year-old cousin to intervene and stop the fight.

During the altercation, the sister allegedly pushed the 10-year-old, who was holding a kitchen knife, causing him to fall into the cousin and inflict a stab wound to the right side of his neck.

The 15-year-old succumbed to his injuries at the scene and was certified dead by MR 24/7 Emergency Services.

The 10-year-old suspect was arrested, the kitchen knife was recovered, and police investigations are continuing.
