Separating Facts and Chats in Lion Conservation
What the effects of sensational social media messages are, in the work done in conservation, was what was discussed in this episode of the MYD Earth Show with the help of Felix Vallat from TOSCO, Tourism Supporting Conservation.
Felix, who is also a partner in the Desert Adapted Lion Conservation Programme, shares here too about what is happening in Namibia regarding Lion conservation with the World having recently celebrated World Wildlife Day under the theme ‘Big Cats: Predators Under Threat’.
Also discussed in this episode of the MYD Earth Show, was the soon to be launched book, Vanishing Kings – Lions of the Namib Desert. The book is a collection of more than thirty years worth of work on Lion research by Dr Philip Stander. The book follows a documentary by the same name, produced by wildlife filmmakers Will and Lianne Steenkamp, which was recently awarded at the United Nations by the CITES International Big Cats Festival.
