– Namibia has been awarded with the Champion of Press Freedom in Africa Award at the 10th International Festival of Freedom of Expression and Press in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
– South Africa’s third biggest political party, the Economic Freedom Fighters, has held a protest outside the Israeli embassy in the capital, Pretoria. Party leader Julius Malema once again called for the closure of the embassy after saying Israel’s government had “no respect for humanity”. – BBC
– Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will visit Washington from Thursday to Sunday to meet US counterpart Antony Blinken as well as National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, say US officials. Officials also say they will push Beijing “to take a more constructive approach” on the “situations” in Israel and Ukraine during his visit. – BBC
– Kaizer Chiefs have announced that they parted ways with head coach Molefi Ntseki following a turbulent start to the season. Meanwhile, assistant coach Arthur Zwane was demoted and will “return to his former role within the development structures of the Club”. News24Sport
