Recycling and the Bottom Line
A positive spin off is an increase on your bottom line, and it is just one of the surprising results companies find when they look to how they can operate sustainably. With Windhoek’s first ever recycling day behind us, 99FM’s MYD Earth spoke to a company based in Walvis Bay that has seen the effect of looking to recycling at all levels within the office. We also caught up with the Recycle Namibia Forum (RNF) to find out how the first ever recycling day in the capital was received.
In this episode of MYD Earth we spoke to Anita Witt from the Recycle Namibia Forum who shared with us how Windhoek’s first ever Recycling Day spread awareness and showcased the amazing possibilities available from recycling. The event brought together people from all walks of life; schools and corporates and community members.
We were also joined in studio Nicole Blaauw, the senior planner at Mpact Corrugated in Walvis Bay. Nicole is a Namibian passionate about the environment who brought recycling to her office with impressive results on morale and the bottom line.
Here are some of the areas covered in this episode of MYD Earth:
- How Windhoek’s first ever recycle day went and who to contact if you want to join in and start recycling in your home, school or office.
- How Mpact Corrugated has saved millions of dollars by introducing recycling at all levels within their organisation.
- What Nicole did to get employees excited and dedicated to lowering their waste to landfill
- What a recycling culture can do for a company and our country
