Below Freezing Temperatures Expected Again this Week

“If the cold conditions continue, farmers will face loss of livestock, especially the young ones,” said Mr. Sixtus Isaak Chairperson of the //Karas Regional Farmers Union. Isaak stressed that the younger livestock cannot sustain the cold weather. He says farmers are faced with challenges such as water shortages, boreholes are drying up and lack of grazing areas for livestock.

Meanwhile, Weather Forecaster at the Namibia Meteorological Service Odillo Kgobetsi warns farmers to take the necessary precautions as temperatures will be below freezing level as from Tuesday this week. Kgobetsi says temperatures will drop to below zero degrees.
