Mutorwa calls for collaboration to create single African air transport market

Namibia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Works and Transport, John Mutorwa, urged African nations to prioritize aviation development through a collaborative effort. Speaking at the AviaDev conference in Windhoek, Mutorwa highlighted the establishment of a Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM) as a key driver for economic growth and trade across the continent.

Mutorwa emphasized the importance of honoring the collective commitment to SAATM, which would integrate air transport within Africa with the existing African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). This unified market, he believes, would serve as a powerful instrument to accelerate intra-African trade and economic prosperity.
