The MYD Show – Woke with the Honourable Tom Alweendo
In this episode of MYD Show we had the Minister of Economic Planning and the Director General of the National Planning Commission, the Honourable Tom Alweendo join us in studio.
The Honorable Minister Alweendo, who hails from the Oshana Region, was the first Namibian Governor of the Bank of Namibia.
“It was a typical life, at the time, for most people who grew up in the villages. Also in terms of schooling, in those days it was not uncommon for you to walk 5 or 6 kilometres to go to school but when you look back some of those challenges, one can say, might have shaped to you to be who you are today.”
In this episode of the MYD Show, the Minister shares about awareness, and the danger of ‘them and us’ thinking.
“I think everything really starts with self awareness, because then I know about what are my strengths and what are the weaknesses that I may have to work on.”
In this MYD show podcast we find out:
- Some of the moments that defined the Ministers life, including days of his childhood and what it was like to be the first Namibian to head the Bank of Namibia
- How citizens can be part of the change in solving economic problems
- Tom Alweendo on self-awareness and the danger of ‘them and us’ thinking
