Penduka, which means ‘Wake Up!’ provides jobs to more than 660 Namibian woman in hospitality and arts and crafts ventures, teaching them basic business skills as well as self confidence.
Penduka provides social enterprise training for local less privileged women. Through training they can enter entrepreneurship or become part of Penduka’s production department and obtain an income of sales of unique handmade products or choose the hospitality side with restaurant, overnight and conference facilities.
Through training, income generating activities: like storytelling embroidery, African batik, glass recycling- jewelry making, story telling pottery,exchange visits, making use of natural resources, show benefits of recycling and how to live in harmony with nature: small scale farming, doorstep gardens, water recycling, solar boxes.

The village has a shop, restaurant, Bed & Breakfast and offers creative classes & traditional dancing. -And has been doing so for 25 years!
