Spotting the Brown Hyena

The Brown Hyena is currently the rarest species of Hyena, listed as near threatened in the IUCN Red List, with populations threatened due to the mistaken belief that they are harmful to livestock.

While threatened, the Brown Hyena conduct a critical role in the eco-system as an indicator species.

Emsie Verwey from the Skeleton Coast Brown Hyena Project, joins us for this episode of the MYD Earth Show, to share with us about this species.

Here Emsie shares about why spotting a Brown Hyena is such a special experience and why these animals are such an important part of the ecosystem.
