Namibia has produced some of the best music stars with the most beautiful vocal abilities. It only takes a quick listen to 99FM or a careful search on Youtube to hear the amount of amazing Namibian voices out there.
In an effort to discover new vocal talent in the land of the brave, Voice of Namibia has been running a singing competition to discover Namibian singing talent. According to Alinda Lu’Mar, Founder and Owner of Voice of Namibia, the competition “facilitates a platform designed to discover singing talent in Namibia on a distinguishing level”.
Voice of Namibia produced startling results when it was launched in 2018 through a campaign driven mostly on multimedia with public votes and online judges making the final choice of who wins. In 2019, the competition stepped things up a notch with some improvements in its format.
“We started off with a live illumination show with 25 finalists on 9 February 2019 and our final show with the Top 10 was held on 16 April 2019 at the Windhoek Country Club Resort,” says Alinda.
2019 Voice of Namibia Winner, Nadia Hanssen, served as one of the judges at the 2020 Season 3 Elimination Show which took place in February this year where the Top 10 were selected.
After exhilarating rounds throughout the 2020 edition of the competition, the finals will be broadcast this Sunday, 26 April at 20h00, only on One Africa TV.
