Survival and Adaptation
Namibia is home to the only desert adapted lions in the world. For these lions to survive they need to be able to live in harmony with communities, this is why the Ministry of Environment and Tourism has just launched the Human-Lion Conflict Management Plan.
In this episode of the MYD Earth Show we speak to Felix Vallat from TOSCO, Tourism Supporting Conservation, about the recently launched plan and how it aims to mitigate the conflict that results in loss of this unique and important species.
We also hear from Flip Stander, who has been living and working with the Desert Adapted Lions for many years.
In this MYD Earth podcast we find out:
- What makes the Desert Adapted Lions unique
- What the new Human-Lion Conflict Management Plan entails
- The dangers of misinformation spread on social media in the work done in conservation
